NERÓPOLIS, GOIÁS, BRAZIL – FEBRUARY 1, 2026 Armed hitman attack took place at São Bento Square. He arrived together with his accomplice on a motorcycle and attacked a group of people standing there. Twenty-two-year-old Keven Euripedes Soares Balsanufo succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His 20-year-old brother suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The identity of the perpetrator, his motive, and whether Keven was the intended target are not yet known. The investigation is ongoing. CCTV footage shows that one of the women from the group tried to defend herself against the shooting and even came into direct physical contact with the gunman. However, he and his accomplice managed to escape from the scene.
