LUCKNOW, UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA – MAY 10, 2026 Violent incident occurred in which 35-year-old Shyam Chetan Tiwari, a member of the BJYM youth organization, was shot. The attack allegedly took place in the Mehndiganj area during a conflict related to local political activities. According to police, a dispute between Tiwari and 25-year-old Vaibhav Bajpai, also associated with BJYM, escalated to the point where Bajpai used a firearm and shot Tiwari in the hip area.

The injured man was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is being treated. Police detained the suspect Vaibhav Bajpai shortly after the incident and also seized the weapon used. The investigation is still ongoing.
