MANAUS, AMAZONAS, BRAZIL – JUNE 8, 2025 On Rio Grajaú Street in the Novo Aleixo neighborhood in the northern part of the city, a brutal crime took place. A 27-year-old man, Vítor Hugo Flores, and a 28-year-old woman, Manuela Sabrina Barros, were shot by a man reportedly driven by jealousy.

The shooter was the woman’s ex-partner, 52-year-old Antônio Márcio Silva de Castro, who could not accept the end of their relationship. He also couldn’t bear that his former girlfriend had a new boyfriend. He violently broke into their studio apartment and killed them both inside, then fled the scene.

Manuela was shot in the neck, head, and left arm. Her partner suffered multiple gunshot wounds as well. He died at the scene, but Manuela still showed weak signs of life. Neighbors immediately transported her to the hospital, where she was declared dead.
According to unverified reports, the tragedy is made even more heartbreaking by the fact that Manuela’s young daughters witnessed the attack. However, the perpetrator spared their lives.
