PUERTO ORDAZ, BOLIVAR STATE, VENEZUELA – OCTOBER 10, 2026 Tragedy occurred in the Caroní River in the Villa Bahía recreational area. An adult man lost his life while attempting to rescue two children who were being swept away by a strong current.
According to preliminary reports, the children got into trouble while swimming. The man tried to help them, but the current swept him away as well and pulled him underwater. His body was found by rescuers after 6:30 p.m. local time.
