LINS, SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – AUGUST 16, 2026 Conflict between two neighboring families ended in tragedy. During a family gathering, another argument broke out over loud music. The 44-year-old man then went into his house, took a revolver, and began shooting at the neighbors standing in the street.

During the shooting, one woman, 62-year-old Creuza Aparecida de Oliveira Aranha, was killed and five other people were shot, some of whom suffered serious injuries. The shooter was arrested by police shortly after the attack. The suspect claimed that he acted in self-defense because he and his family had allegedly been threatened in the past. Police recovered a revolver, ammunition, and other evidence at the scene.
