SANGHA, PUNJAB, INDIA – JUNE 13, 2026 Family dispute ended in tragedy, claiming the lives of two people. The incident took place in the village of Sangha in Tarn Taran district when Lovepreet Singh, who had been married for approximately nine months, went to the home of his wife Sandeep Kaur’s parents to persuade her to return home following an earlier family dispute.
At the scene, a heated argument broke out between Lovepreet and his brother-in-law, Sajan Singh. According to investigators, Sajan poured gasoline on Lovepreet and set him on fire with a lighter. When his sister, Gurjit Kaur, tried to help the victim, she also suffered severe burns in the fire.
Both victims were taken to the hospital, but their injuries were so extensive that they later died. Authorities have not disclosed the exact date of their deaths. The case only gained wider public attention in early July after security camera footage capturing the entire attack surfaced online.
