CERRALVO, NUEVO LEÓN, MEXICO Man, while walking to the Nogalito dam, came across a severely injured woman covered in blood. The police who were called to the scene identified her as 42-year-old Blanca Aurora Segura Guevara. She had suffered multiple bruises, including on her face, and second- and third-degree burns on her abdomen, legs, and groin.
Fortunately, Blanca survived and told investigators that she had been abducted by three armed men in the city of Guadalupe. They allegedly forced her into a truck, covered her head with a towel, and asked her whether her name was “Concha.”
Throughout the roughly 60-mile (100-kilometer) journey, they tortured and beat her. When they threw her out of the vehicle, they doused her with a flammable liquid and set her on fire. They then fled the scene, assuming she would die.
It is highly likely that the cartel that abducted her made a mistake and attacked the wrong woman. The identity of the cartel responsible for the attack was never determined.
