ZAPOPAN, JALISCO, MEXICO – MAY 13, 2025 Valeria Márquez was a 23-year-old successful influencer, entrepreneur, and winner of the Miss Rostro beauty contest in 2021. On the social network Instagram, she had almost 90,000 followers, and on TikTok 110,000. On both networks, she appeared as @v___marquez. She was a popular content creator who focused on posts about beauty and cosmetics with a touch of her distinctive humor. She also ran a beauty salon called “Blossom The Beauty Lounge” at the corner of Avenida Servidor Público and Emperadores Mexicanos streets in the Real del Carmen district. This became the site of her murder.

She was just livestreaming on the social network TikTok when a man entered, introducing himself as a delivery man. But suddenly, he pulled out a gun and murdered her in front of all the viewers of her live stream. The attacker then fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Ironically, just shortly before her death, Valeria was boasting during the stream that she was expecting some expensive package. She even pretended to be struck. As if she had some disturbing premonition. Just a few minutes before her death, she shared a photo on Instagram in the same outfit in which she was murdered.

When police and paramedics arrived at the scene, she was pronounced dead. At present, forensic experts are collecting evidence from the crime scene and investigators are trying to trace the motive and the perpetrator.
