GUADALAJARA, JALISCO, MEXICO – JULY 12, 2025 In the Balcones de Oblatos neighborhood, at the intersection of Hacienda de los Cedros and Hacienda de los Pozos, a violent confrontation ended tragically. A man arrived to confront his 28-year-old ex-wife, Karla. Upon seeing him, she went outside with a broom and started striking his car, causing minor damage.

The man responded impulsively, pulling an assault rifle from his vehicle to scare her off. Karla confronted him fearlessly, even attacking him directly. He fired warning shots into the air, but when that failed to stop her, he shot her in the head.
Karla’s relatives, living in the same house, were alarmed by the gunfire but arrived too late to save her. They found her lifeless on the ground as the attacker fled.
Authorities are searching for the suspect, and the case is being investigated as femicide, highlighting the ongoing issue of gender-based violence.
