NEW DELHI, INDIA – APRIL 4, 2016 Tragic traffic accident occurred in the Civil Lines area, in which 32-year-old Sidharth Sharma died. The man was hit by a Mercedes driven by an underage driver while crossing the road.

The entire incident was captured by a security camera. The footage shows Sharma trying to cross the road after buying food and looking both ways. When he noticed a rapidly approaching vehicle, he attempted to avoid it, but the car struck him.
The impact was so strong that the man was thrown several meters into the air. The Mercedes then drove onto the sidewalk and came to a stop only after its tires burst. The underage driver then fled the scene of the accident along with his friends.
A court later ruled that the victim’s parents were entitled to financial compensation of approximately 19.8 million rupees ($200,000). Responsibility was also assigned to the underage driver’s father because he failed to prevent his son from driving the car, despite knowing that he was using it.
