QUEVEDO, ECUADOR – APRIL 28, 2024 Landy Párraga Goyburo, 23, was the winner of the Miss Ecuador beauty pageant in 2022. Winning the pageant made her life a lot better. She gained almost 200,000 followers on Instagram, started doing paid promotions and enjoyed the life of a celebrity.

On that fateful week, she was invited to her friend’s wedding in the smaller town of Quevedo. She arrived there with her boyfriend Jose Luis Betancourt. When they were at a local restaurant for dinner, two armed men burst in and shot Landy.
Landy was left lying in a pool of blood, slowly dying next to her boyfriend. The attack was caught on video by a security camera inside the restaurant.

Landy was having a sexual relationship with Leandro Norero. He was one of the most influential drug lords in the area, known as “El Patrón”. He was assassinated in October 2022 by a rival group. Nevertheless, it is believed that this assassination and their sexual relationship had a connection.
The two hit men were able to pinpoint Landy’s location thanks to her Instagram. She posted a storie with food from the restaurant.
