JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, USA – JULY 17, 2024 In Jacksonville, Florida, a police officer shot Brenton A. Paquin, a man suspected of a Vermont murder and two armed robberies in Lake County. The incident occurred Wednesday evening on Blanding Boulevard after the officer spotted a vehicle matching the description of one used in a recent robbery.
Paquin approached the car with a dog and confirmed it was his. When the officer asked him to sit down, Paquin ignored the command and tried to reach the car. As the officer attempted to stop him, Paquin pulled out a gun, prompting the officer to fire and hit him in the chest.
Paramedics transported Paquin to the hospital, where he underwent surgery and was reported to be in stable condition.
