MONGOLIA – JULY, 2024 Mysterious murder and rape of a 16-year-old girl, Shinesaran Ohinii Medee, has gone viral on the social network TikTok, where people are using the hashtag #JusticeForShinesaran to express their condolences and seek justice for her death. Although the incident allegedly occurred in Mongolia, it is being most widely discussed in Indonesia. Some sources claim Shinesaran had Indonesian roots, but this is unconfirmed, as is everything else about this case. This is perhaps the reason people find it so fascinating.

Shinesaran reportedly lost her mobile phone. The person who found it managed to contact her and gave her his address so she could come pick it up. When she arrived, he dragged her into his apartment, where he raped and murdered her. He then stuffed her body into a suitcase and dumped it by the side of a road.
The discovery of her body prompted a large-scale police investigation, which ultimately ended without success. The perpetrator was never caught, despite a photo allegedly leaking onto social media showing him taking a selfie in a mirror with a woman, with the body of a dead woman stuffed in a suitcase visible in the background. However, neither individual in the photo was ever identified.
