AJAH, LAGOS STATE, NIGERIA – JULY 14, 2026 Loveth Ifesinachi Okafor, who operated a POS payment terminal, was raped and murdered in the Mopo area of the Ajah district. The woman’s body was found in a drainage canal along Monastery Road. The suspect had allegedly attempted to dump it there. Local security personnel apprehended the man and handed him over to the police. Police confirmed his arrest and transferred the case to the Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba. The victim’s body was taken to a morgue, where it was to be preserved and subjected to an autopsy.
The suspect
A large amount of misinformation about the case is circulating on social media, including claims that Loveth was raped by an organized gang. However, these claims have never been confirmed.
