Pharmacy security guard shot dead with his service weapon

SANTO DOMINGO ESTE, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – MAY 4, 2026 80-year-old pharmacy security guard was killed in the San Isidro neighborhood. He had stopped at a nearby store to buy coffee when an attacker approached him, took his service firearm, and shot him. The attacker then fled on a motorcycle. The incident was captured on security camera. Authorities reportedly believe the primary motive was to steal the guard’s firearm.
