CHINA Police officers were called to a bizarre case of self-harm. A man walked into the street with a knife, shouting incoherent phrases and stabbing himself. When he tried to slit his own throat, the officers watching him decided to intervene and managed to stop him – most likely saving his life.
The man was transported to a psychiatric hospital, where he was admitted for long-term care. It was later determined that he suffers from severe psychosis and may pose a danger not only to himself but also to others around him.
If you're thinking about self-harm, please stop and recognize that this won't solve the pain you're feeling. While it might seem like a way to cope, it leaves lasting scars, not just on your body but on your heart as well. There are healthier, safer ways to manage your emotions.
