HARIDWAR, INDIA – JANUARY 24, 2024 The parents of a seven-year-old boy suffering from cancer believed the superstitions about the miraculousness of the Ganges River and decided to cure him. Chanting mantras, they submerged him underwater and ignored his cries until he was drowned. Bystanders tried to stop his mother, but she refused to listen. The parents and aunt were detained by the police.
