SAN BARTOLO, LIMA, PERU – MAY 14, 2025 Two internet technicians from PC Telecom, a subcontractor of the well-known provider Claro, were called to the apartment of Venezuelan citizen Mary Andreina Farías Torres in San Bartolo. Although they were only supposed to install internet in the home, according to security camera footage, they stayed there for over 10 hours.

Although it is not known what exactly happened inside the apartment during that time, a friend of Andreina told the media that they had been drinking alcohol together. At some point, the alcohol apparently lowered all inhibitions, and the two men allegedly raped Andreina.
However, Andreina was not the type of woman to remain silent. She confronted the technicians, and as they tried to flee the apartment, she ran after them, shouted for them to wait for the police, and begged neighbors for help. Her calls were ignored.
As the technicians fled in their van, she jumped onto the hood in an attempt to stop them. Nevertheless, they continued driving. At one point, Andreina fell from the hood directly under the wheels of the van and was fatally run over. Both technicians fled the scene.

Thanks to Claro, the two technicians were identified as Jean Carlos Montero Huaylinos and Rubén Darío Cueva Velásquez. The company issued an apology for their employees’ actions but emphasized that it follows all safety protocols in its hiring process.
