Revenge of Wagner group for destroyed convoy

MALI – AUGUST, 2024 In retaliation for the destruction of a Wagner Group convoy in Mali, Wagner fighters reportedly launched rockets at a Tuareg base, resulting in the deaths of over 40 people. This attack was likely an act of revenge following the group’s heavy losses in northern Mali during battles with Tuareg rebels. The previous ambush, in which dozens of Wagner fighters were killed, marked one of the largest setbacks for the group in Africa​.
