MEDNOGORSK, ORENBURG OBLAST, RUSSIA – JANUARY 19, 2025 Aleksandr Ilin, 17, was hanging out with his friends and decided to take a selfie on the roof of a train. But when he climbed up there, he got electrocuted and caught fire. His friends made a scary video of him yelling at him to jump into the snow, but they were too far away to do anything more. At the 1:50 mark, it can be seen that he is still alive and moving, which confuses his friends even more.

You can get an electric shock in such a case even if you don’t touch the wire. When an electric wire creates a strong enough electric field around itself, all you have to do is get close to the wire.
