HYATTSVILLE, MARYLAND, USA – MARCH 1, 2025 Tragic incident occurred at the McDonald’s restaurant at 2306 University Boulevard in Hyattsville. A security guard, 54-year-old Murwanashyaka Francois, was charged with murder after he shot and killed 45-year-old Ricardo Clemons Jr. during an argument.
The incident began after restaurant employees asked Clemons Jr. to leave the restaurant. He was a frequent problem customer there. When he refused to leave, Francois used pepper spray on him. About five minutes later, a physical altercation ensued between the two, during which they exchanged several blows. Francois, however, suddenly pulled out his service weapon and shot Clemons Jr. in the chest. He died on the spot.
Francois has been charged with second-degree murder and is currently awaiting trial in the jail.
