PORTEL, MARAJÓ, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 21, 2025 40-year-old guard, Rógerio Gomes do Amaral Júnior, was shot dead at a gas station. The incident happened early in the morning as the man was returning from work. Security cameras showed the attacker approaching him, opening fire, and hitting him several times in the head. The victim died at the scene.
The perpetrator, who used a stolen motorcycle, fled the location and, according to witnesses, continued on foot to the port, from where he sailed to a rural area. The motive for the crime is still unknown. Police have already identified the suspect and are investigating using camera footage and witness statements.
