Shot dead due to drunken conflict in front of nightclub

ISTANBUL, TURKEY, 2021 In the Hüseyinağa neighborhood of Istanbul, Mahmut Işık (37) and Ahmet Akın (36) had an argument. When the dispute escalated into a fight, their mutual friend Murat Irmak (28), a security guard at a local club, intervened to separate them. However, Işık pulled out a gun and started shooting. He hit Irmak mortally in the heart and wounded Akın in the leg. The shooter was detained, and the injured Akın was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
