DIGOS CITY, DAVAO DEL SUR, PHILIPPINES – NOVEMBER 25, 2025 On the evening of Tuesday, November 25, 2025, barangay captain Oscar “Dodong” Bucol Jr., also known as Kap Bucol, was shot and killed while broadcasting live on Facebook. Part of the attack was captured in his live stream. Bucol was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Local police immediately launched an investigation and formed a special team to identify the perpetrator. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being reviewed, and authorities have urged the public to provide any information that could help catch those responsible.

According to local media, Bucol had recently criticized certain actions by the local government, particularly some development projects, highlighting possible irregularities. This has led to speculation that the killing may have been politically motivated. The investigation is ongoing, and police have promised that the culprits will be held accountable.
