The suspect is a 38-year-old man who previously had a relationship with the victim and, according to investigators, was still in contact with her. The woman reportedly refused to get into his truck, after which he began following her and attacked her at a roundabout. Even after she fell to the ground, he continued the assault and then fled the scene.
The man was arrested by police a few hours later, and the case is being investigated as a femicide. The victim was buried on April 6 at the municipal cemetery in Aguaí.
