AQUIDAUANA, MATO GROSSO DO SUL, BRAZIL – MARCH 21, 2026 In the Brazilian city of Aquidauana, a violent incident occurred in which a 57-year-old man died. According to police information, he was killed in a small apartment where he lived with other people, who were also his coworkers.
The main suspect is 27-year-old Renan Gabriel Barbosa de Souza, who confessed after the incident. The event was also captured on video, which shows that the victim was already lying motionless on the ground, showing no signs of life, while the attacker continued the assault using an object resembling a wooden stick.
During the recording, the perpetrator allegedly claimed that the motive for the attack was an alleged theft of marijuana and personal belongings. The video was recorded by another man, who was later also detained. According to police statements, both suspects were under the influence of alcohol and behaved in a disoriented manner.
Police were originally called to the scene due to a reported altercation, but they found the man already dead. Shortly afterward, both suspects turned themselves in and admitted their involvement in the incident.
