SANTANA DO MANHUAÇU, MINAS GERAIS, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 6, 2025 Brutal murder took place on Maria Sebastiana de Jesus Street in the Nossa Senhora Aparecida district. 26-year-old Eduardo Júnior Madeira Dias had just returned home from prison, where he had been serving a sentence for murder. Only a few hours after his release, while going out to buy cigarettes, he was attacked by three assailants armed with knives. Eduardo suffered multiple stab and slash wounds, with a fatal blow to his neck. He died before emergency services could arrive.
Investigators suspect the killing may have been an act of revenge by the family of his previous victim. Blood traces and a phone belonging to one of the suspects were recovered from the crime scene. Police are urging the public to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible.
A video recorded by bystanders shows Eduardo’s final moments, lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood, desperately gasping for air. Shockingly, someone was filming instead of attempting to give first aid. Every human life deserves at least an attempt to save it.
