SUDAN Video shows armed men brutally attacking civilians. Physical violence and torture can be seen in the footage. The video is reportedly from an area controlled by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).
According to Human Rights Watch, similar violence is widespread in areas under SAF control. According to the organization, targets include people suspected of cooperating with opponents, as well as individuals attacked because of their identity, humanitarian activities, political involvement, or simply because they previously lived under RSF control.
A civil war has been ongoing in Sudan since April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which are competing for control of the country. Fighting has affected large parts of Sudan and led to widespread civilian displacement and a humanitarian crisis. Both sides of the conflict have been accused of serious human rights violations, including attacks on civilians, torture, executions, and other violence.
