Suspect with two knives attacks police officer

AMHERST, NEW YORK, USA – JULY 12, 2025 Police officers were dispatched to a domestic violence call on the 4800 block of North Bailey Avenue. At the scene, the suspect, 26-year-old Rayquell Grant, armed with two knives, attacked one of the officers. The attack was so swift that he managed to stab the officer in the arm and shoulder. Officers were forced to use their service weapons and shot the attacker five times. They immediately provided first aid, and he was transported to the hospital in serious condition. The injured officer was also hospitalized, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
