Footage shows a man being tortured using a method known as “pau de arara. This is a torture technique in which the victim is suspended by the wrists and ankles from a horizontal pole, often causing extreme pain to the joints and muscles.
The footage likely comes from Africa, where similar physical punishments are sometimes used as street justice. Although the video’s background is unconfirmed, it can be assumed that the man may have committed theft.
It must be emphasized that any form of street justice is a severe violation of human rights. No one in the world has the right to torture another person, not even a thief.
