DANDELI, KARNATAKA, INDIA – JULY 3, 2026 Adventurous experience on a zipline ended in a serious accident. 24-year-old tourist Kuber Surpur from Vijayapura fell from a height of approximately 40 feet (12 meters) while riding a zipline after, according to his family, the safety mechanism failed.
Kuber was suspended in the air at the time of the accident when the safety lock reportedly came loose. He then fell directly to the ground and suffered multiple fractures to his arms and legs and nerve damage. The entire incident was captured on camera, and the footage subsequently began circulating on social media.
The family claims that the resort’s equipment was rusty and poorly maintained and accused its operators of negligence. Kuber was initially taken to a hospital in Dandeli, then transferred to Vijayapura, and later to Miraj because he required specialized treatment.
