BAHIA, BRAZIL – APRIL 18, 2026 Accident occurred at the 309th kilometer of the BA-144 highway between the towns of Morro do Chapéu and Várzea Nova. The truck driver transporting tomatoes overturned to the side while going through a curve. He was not wearing a seat belt and during the impact fell out of the window, from which he remained hanging without signs of life.
Driver’s identity was only released as “Baco.” He reportedly came from the city of Itaberaba, where he was known and popular among the residents. There were two other passengers in the truck at the time of the accident. They managed to survive only with minor injuries.
