Truck lost control and crushed several motorcyclists and pedestrians

MUTENGENE, SOUTHWEST REGION, CAMEROON – MAY 3, 2026 Driver of a tanker truck carrying gasoline lost control of the vehicle, reportedly due to brake failure, and crashed into an area filled with pedestrians, motorcyclists, and taxis. At least 10 cars and 15 motorcycles were damaged during the incident. Several people suffered injuries of varying severity. At least one person was killed at the scene. The tanker driver fled the scene after the crash. Information about his arrest was never made public.
