MATANG WAKEUH, ACEH, INDONESIA – AUGUST 25, 2026 Two people died and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a Scania Putra Pelangi bus and an Isuzu Traga pickup truck that occurred at around 4:20 a.m. The pickup truck, which was carrying baskets of chickens, was traveling from Banda Aceh toward Medan. According to a preliminary police investigation, while going through a curve, the pickup veered to the right into the opposite lane, where it collided with the bus traveling in the opposite direction.
23-year-old Samsul Bahri, the pickup truck driver, died at the scene. His 20-year-old assistant, Fahrizal, also died. Two people from the bus, 26-year-old Muhammad Azkal Azkia, the bus driver, and 34-year-old Tutia Rahmi, were injured and taken to a hospital. Police are continuing to investigate the accident, and both vehicles have been impounded for investigative purposes.
