KHARTSYZK, UKRAINE, 2014 The photos date back to 2014, which is considered the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. 19-year-old Rosa was a proud Ukrainian patriot. She liked to take pictures with symbols of Ukraine and brag about them on social media. Her life was snuffed out when Russian separatists shelled her hometown. Rosa was hit by shrapnel from the bomb and she was nearly cut in half. Note that in one civilian photo, she’s wearing the same shirt as the day she died.
