UKRAINE Members of the Wagner Group cold-bloodedly execute their Ukrainian prisoner. He is allegedly a mercenary from one of the Baltic states. Wearing only underwear and with his hands tied behind his back, he was forced to walk straight across an open field. After he had taken a few steps, they began shooting him from behind.
Such conduct may constitute a war crime. Under international humanitarian law, prisoners of war and combatants who are no longer able to fight must be treated humanely. Torturing, humiliating, or arbitrarily killing them is expressly prohibited.
