SAN ANDRÉS DE CUERQUIA, ANTIOQUIA, COLOMBIA – JUNE 16, 2025 Security camera in the Norte de Antioquia region captured the cold-blooded murder of a man in a wheelchair. The footage shows a hitman quietly approaching the victim from behind, then suddenly drawing a gun, shooting him multiple times, and fleeing the scene.
The victim was identified as 32-year-old Juan Camilo Espinosa Vanegas, who served as a city councilman. It is believed that the motive behind the murder was his political activity.

In connection with the crime, a 17-year-old suspect was arrested. Police also seized the murder weapon – a revolver – from him. His motorcycle was confiscated as well and will be subject to investigation. According to the local police department, the investigation is still in its early stages.
The alleged shooter had lived in the area for less than six months, having moved there from Cali. He was reportedly recruited by dissidents of the 36th Front of the former FARC. This is, in short, a communist terrorist (guerrilla) group.
