CHINA In a shocking family tragedy, a 28-year-old woman, newly married into the family, is accused of beheading her 22-year-old niece at a market stall in Ma Wang Township. Surveillance video shows the niece’s severed head on the ground, while the suspect, reportedly intoxicated, shouts angrily nearby.
The violent dispute stems from a fraudulent marriage: the niece’s uncle, a ride-hailing driver, allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and then coerced her into marriage to evade legal consequences. After spending 200,000 yuan, she endured divorce and public humiliation.
Angered by the deception, the woman exposed him during a live-stream broadcast, which previously led to an altercation involving the niece and her mother. Earlier today, under the influence of alcohol and seeking revenge, she confronted the niece alone, culminating in the fatal attack.
Authorities have taken the suspect into custody, as the local community reels from the horrifying incident.
