PIURA, PERU – AUGUST 30, 2025 In the nightclub “La Colmena” on the road between Piura and Sullana, 32-year-old Ecuadorian woman Karen Hidalgo Rojas was found dead. Her body was discovered by the club’s security guard after her driver reported that she was not answering her phone and had failed to arrive at an agreed meeting place.

Karen was found inside a bucket of water, her head submerged while her limbs extended outside. Bloodstains and bruises were visible on her neck and right arm, suggesting she may have struggled. An autopsy revealed that she had died from drowning.
