BRAZIL – JUNE 16, 2019 21-year-old Paulo Henrique Fontinelle struggled with severe depression and psychological problems throughout his life. He showed many signs of anxiety and often posted depressing statuses on Facebook. However, he has sometimes shared aggressive statuses, such as expressing support for the Columbine school massacre.
On 16 June 2019, his mental health problems drove him to suicide. He put a bullet through his head during a Facebook live stream. Among the people watching were those closest to him. They begged him not to do it, but even that didn’t stop him.
This case is a warning to everyone to be very sensitive to their surroundings. Mentally ill people usually call for help before committing such an act. In this case, it is fortunate that he took his own life and did not opt for so-called widespread suicide. He must have at least thought about it when he was admiring monsters like Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold.
