SAN JOSÉ, COSTA RICA – JANUARY 21, 2025 Street security camera in the Loto 2 area of Desamparados recorded a tragic incident in which a young man lost his life. When 23-year-old Esquivel Herrera was returning from work and got off at a bus stop near his house, he got into a shootout. He was accidentally hit by one stray bullet, which struck him directly in the head. He was dead on the spot.
Although not visible on the video, this shootout claimed one more innocent victim. Another stray bullet hit a 20-year-old man in the knee. He was transported to the medical center and is now out of life-threatening danger.
