SRI LANKA When the young man’s girlfriend broke up with him, it broke his heart so deeply that he decided to take a desperate step – he doused himself with a flammable liquid and set himself on fire. Passersby managed to extinguish the flames relatively quickly using buckets of water, but the fire still caused severe burns over a significant part of his body.
The video shows a terrifying aftermath, with his burnt skin hanging from him while people keep pouring water to cool him down until emergency services arrive. Despite their efforts, his injuries are so severe that he writhes in pain on the ground. Updates on his health or whether he survived are not available.
