Young woman died after her dress got caught in motorcycle chain

SÃO MIGUEL DO GUAMÁ, PARÁ, BRAZIL – MARCH 20, 2026 In the early morning hours, police received a report that a dead female body was lying at the 5-kilometer mark of the BR-010 highway. When officers arrived at the scene, the report was confirmed. A young woman was lying on the road wearing only a thong, with her blouse pulled up. She had visible head injuries, and although there were suspicions that it was caused by a traffic accident, officers were unable to confirm this at the scene. The victim was identified as 25-year-old Lauana Soares.

Major investigation was launched, which eventually led police to a nearby guesthouse. The owner stated that a man had stopped there asking for help removing something that had gotten caught in his motorcycle chain. He said it was almost certainly a piece of women’s clothing.

Based on these facts, investigators developed a theory that the victim had been riding on a motorcycle with someone when her dress got caught in the chain, causing her to fall off. This version was later confirmed when the wanted man turned himself in at the police station. He also stated that both of them were traveling without helmets. He is currently being charged with failing to provide first aid.
