ITAPÉ, BAHIA, BRAZIL – NOVEMBER 7, 2015 Renata Santos de Oliveira, 14, was found dead in a plot of land near the village of Itapé. She was only wearing a T-shirt and underwear. The cause of death was determined to be strangulation. It was confirmed that she was raped.
The crime was likely motivated by revenge for an outstanding drug debt. A paper was found on the victim that referred to the debt. Her mother said Renata had nothing to do with the drug trade.
