SAMUT PRAKAN, THAILAND – JULY 12, 2015 Benjawan Sae Tang, 16, was found dead at home by her mother. She experienced the truly shocking sight of her daughter with a knife stuck deep into her throat, lying lifeless in a pool of blood. The prime suspect was her stepfather, 25 years old. The mother and neighbors testified that her daughter often argued with her stepfather. Further police investigation confirmed that the man had raped the poor girl.

The whole family were migrants from Myanmar (Burma), so the police assumed that the man would try to flee there. They weren’t wrong. He was apprehended at the Ban Huai Hin Fon border crossing.
