CHONGQING, CHONGQING, CHINA – OCTOBER 11, 2025 According to police and local media reports, the incident involved a conflict between two women in an area near a marketplace close to a liquor store. The attacker was a 39-year-old woman (referred to in some reports as Tang), who had long-standing disputes with her husband, a 47-year-old man (Shen).
The victim was a 27-year-old woman (Yang), who was a relative of the attacker’s husband and, according to police, got into an argument with her on the day of the incident. The attacker then assaulted her with a knife and caused fatal injuries at the scene. She stabbed her to death and then cut off her head.
The investigation showed that the motive was related to a long-standing divorce dispute between the attacker and her husband, including financial and personal conflicts. According to witness accounts from the scene, the woman returned to the store several times before the incident, and there had previously been conflicts within the family, including physical altercations. After the attack, the attacker did not attempt to flee and was detained by police directly at the scene of the crime.
