DE OCAMPO, CAVITE, PHILIPPINES – JANUARY 5, 2017 Box thrown away by the roadside contained a terrifying find. Inside was the dismembered body of a young woman. She was soon identified as 17-year-old Mitzi Joy Cardenes Balunsay from Dasmariñas, a student at Cavite State University. It was later discovered that her 20-year-old classmate Alvin Ibarra was behind her murder. The murder was sexually motivated, and it was confirmed that Mitzi had been raped.
