IRANDUBA, BRAZIL – 26 JULY, 2017 Josenilce Rodrigues Marinho, 21, was fresh out of a divorce from her ex-husband Daniel Gomes do Carmo. He was a taxi driver and was taking their divorce very hard because they had a child together. When Josenilce celebrated her 22nd birthday, he got the idea of trying to reconcile with her by buying and delivering her a present. But she slammed the door in his face.

Daniel knocked her out with a blow to the head and suffocated her. He then threw her body into the hole where she posthumously broke her neck.
The perpetrator’s taxi was found near the scene. Officers quickly located Daniel and he was charged with murder. The court sentenced him to 23 years in prison.
