GANDOH, DODA DISTRICT, KASHMIR, INDIA – JUNE 26, 2024 During a special operation by the Indian Army, 3 terrorists belonging to the Kashmir Tigers were detected and killed. All three had Pakistani citizenship.
The Kashmir Tigers is a militant group operating in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It first emerged in 2019, shortly after the revocation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, which stripped the region of its special status. The group is considered a “shadow organization” linked to larger terrorist outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). It is used to obscure responsibility for attacks and create the impression of localized militant activities.
The group has claimed responsibility for several terrorist attacks, including recent incidents targeting Indian security forces in the Doda and Kathua regions. Such “shadow” organizations are often employed to confuse security agencies and complicate investigations.
