KYIV, UKRAINE – JUNE 5, 2026 On Vaclav Havel Boulevard in the Karavajevi Dachi area, a tragic traffic accident occurred in which four people died, including a 12-year-old boy.
According to the police, a 49-year-old man was driving a Mercedes-Benz at high speed when he lost control of the vehicle. The car left the roadway, entered a pedestrian area, and subsequently crashed into the entrance of an underpass where people were present.
The impact was so strong that four people died at the scene. Three other people sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital. The driver was extracted from the vehicle after the crash and also hospitalized.
Investigators are working with the theory that the main cause of the accident was excessive speed and loss of control of the vehicle. Police are treating the case as a serious violation of traffic regulations resulting in multiple deaths.
